Vehicle Description 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo GT Hawk Manual, PS/PB, Low Mile Survivor Cool 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo for sale.
This Hawk GT was purchased new in 1962 in Flushing New York and we are told the 69,393 miles are original.
It is factory-equipped with 3-speed manual transmission, power steering, and a 289ci V8 engine.
It is one of 8388 built in 1962 and is in mostly original, well-preserved condition.
It includes the original owner's manual and case as well as insurance cards dating back to its first owner.
It has had two subsequent California owners since, both using it sparingly and keeping it inside.
This car was stored for many years under the first owner then was brought out of hibernation and professionally serviced and made road-ready a few years ago.
The 289ci V8 starts up and runs strong.
The shifting feels great and the power steering and braking are nice and responsive.
Overall it is a very nice driving Hawk.
Inside it is highly functional and comfortable.
The front seats appear to have been reupholstered at some point though the headliner, carpets, door panels, dash, and rear seats all appear original.
It has working lights, gauges, heater, clock, etc making it very nice for long drives.
If anything it could use fresh carpet.
Otherwise, it's in great overall shape.
Outside is straight and tidy yet the silver paint is ready for a refresh though it has well-preserved glass, stainless, chrome, badging, and lenses.
Overall this is a very cool, unmolested, and nicely equipped 58-year-old classic Studebaker with a short owners list and many more decades of enjoyment left in her.
